Anything extra you want on top, we agree at the same founding rate. Fixed prices up front, and I only ask for an honest line about the work in return. Once the three spots are taken, my rates hold at their usual £2,800+.

Blaeneinion

A 75-acre conservation valley and beaver sanctuary in mid Wales, built as a family of four connected sites sharing one brand and one component system.

  • Designed one brand and stretched it across four sites: the valley, the cottages, the course, and volunteering.
  • Built each as its own fast static site, sharing a single visual language and component system.

Cahokia website
Client · Missouri, USA

Cahokia

A launch site for the Cahokia trilogy by author Michael LeRoi, framing the series the way Amazon doesn't: two books live, a third on its way, and a prologue you can read and hear before you buy.

  • Turned two manuscripts and a trilogy synopsis into the site's copy, quoted exactly from the books, with an immersive prologue reading chamber and a narrated audio player.
  • Ships with a strict content-security policy and zero third-party requests. Median mobile Lighthouse: 99 performance, 100 everywhere else.
Not only is Alex a master artist, he was able to transform a whole lot of text into some very nice and precise descriptions without my help.

Volunteering

Blaeneinion is a 75-acre conservation valley and beaver sanctuary run by Sharon Girardi. Twenty years of work sits behind it: woodland planted, wetland restored, a forest garden, and a wild family of beavers. After 13 years as an Airbnb Superhost with over a thousand reviews, everything she did online still lived on someone else's platform. She had no website of her own.

Blaeneinion is really four things at once. Someone booking a cottage, someone applying to volunteer, someone signing up for the course, and someone who just wants to read about the beavers are all after different things. One site half-serves everyone; four separate sites would leave her running four separate brands. The job was four sites that each do one thing well, share one identity, and point to each other.

The identity that holds it together

Four sites only read as one place because one brand sits under them, and that came first. A beaver mark drawn from the real Artists Valley beavers, a green-led palette with three quiet alternates, a serif that carries the name, and the print and merch that make it real in the cottages and at the market.

The Blaeneinion beaver mark and wordmark in moss, slate, heather and umber

The mark, four ways

One beaver mark, one wordmark. Moss leads; slate, heather and umber carry it into different rooms without ever looking like a different place.

Blaeneinion merch artwork: enamel pin, sticker, mug, tote, tea towel and tee

The beaver line

Enamel pins, stickers, mugs, totes, tea towels, tees. The small, everyday pieces first, all on one palette, print on demand so there's no stock to carry.

The Blaeneinion brand board: the mark, clear space, palette, type and lockups on one sheet

The brand board

The whole system on one sheet. The mark and its clear space, the palette, the type, and how they lock up. It's what Sharon hands anyone who prints for her.

The rest of the system

Every piece the place actually uses, on one palette so a shelf of them looks of a piece. Print on demand, nothing to keep in stock.

How a job runs

Four steps. You always own the source.

No agency process deck. Just the path from first email to a live site you control.

  1. 01

    Brief

You tell me what the job is and who it is for. I come back with a clear scope, a price, and a timeline. No discovery theatre.

  2. 02

    Design

Brand and layout in the open. You see real screens early, not a wall of wireframes. Changes land before the build hardens.

  3. 03

    Build

One pair of hands writes the site or app. Fast, accessible, and yours to host. You get progress you can click, not status emails.

  4. 04

    Handover

You own the source, the domain path, and the how-to. I stay on for tweaks if you want. Nothing is locked to me.

Offline control for a home Powerwall I built for a friend, delivered as a private, signed Android app. It talks to the battery over home Wi-Fi only, no cloud, and real control only unlocks when the hardware actually supports it. The staff I don't pay

I run my own business on the agents I sell.

Five of them run to a schedule, against my real books and my real clients. Not one can send anything to a customer on its own. They draft, and they wait. That rule is built in, not promised.

AI-Search SEO Pass

£450

People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI "who does X near me" and get one name back, not ten. If your site is not written so those tools can read and quote it, you are invisible where people now look first.

  • Titles and descriptions rewritten to say what you do, for whom, and where
  • Schema markup so Google and AI tools know exactly what your business is and where
  • A key page restructured into the clear, answer-shaped content AI tools quote
  • The plumbing fixed: sitemap, robots, canonical tags, internal links
  • A one-page "how you show up now versus after", with checks anyone can re-run

You get the changes made and deployed, plus a plain-English before and after. Turnaround 3 to 4 days, and your £400 review comes off this.

  • A written report you can act on with anyone
  • A call afterwards to walk it through

First Agent

  • Runs on your own machine, so your data stays put
  • An off switch you control, no call to me needed
  • Set up, handover, and a month of adjustments

  • Several agents plus a daily digest
  • The same rule on every one: draft, never send
  • Built around what the audit found
  • Quoted after the audit, so the number has evidence behind it
  • Care plan: tuning, plus a new automation each quarter

Common questions

What people ask before they email me.

Short answers with the real numbers in them. If yours is not here, send it over and I will answer it the same way.

  • 01

How much does a website cost?

A one-page launch site is £600 to £1,200. A brand site of up to six pages, with the identity designed as well, is £2,800 to £4,500. A brand system across several connected sites is £6,500 to £9,000, and a shop rebuild starts at £8,000 plus a retainer from £750 a month. Those are real ranges from real projects, not a floor price that moves once you call.

  • 02

    Who actually does the work?

I do, on my own, from the first sketch to the live site. No subcontractors, no account manager relaying messages, no junior doing the build while a senior name sits on the invoice. That is what one pair of hands means.

  • 03

How long does a website take?

A launch page takes three to five days. A brand site takes two to three weeks. A brand system across several sites runs longer and gets a dated schedule before anything starts. The clock starts when your words and pictures are with me, not on the day you first email.

  • 04

Do you work with people outside Wales?

Yes. I work from Carmarthen in west Wales, and most jobs run over email. The four Blaeneinion sites were designed, built and launched without a single meeting. If you would rather talk it through, we talk.

  • 05

Do I own the site when it is finished?

Yes. You own the source code, your domain, and a written how-to that lets anyone else pick the site up. Nothing is locked to me, and there is no monthly fee to keep the site online unless you have asked for ongoing work.

  • 06

Do you design the brand as well as building the site?

Yes, and the same person does both, which is the point of hiring me instead of two suppliers. Brand identity is built into the Brand Site and Brand System tiers. On its own, a mark, colour system and type is from £900, and that fee comes off a site build if you come back within three months.

  • 07

Will an AI agent email my customers without me seeing it?

No. Every agent I build is draft-only: it writes, sorts and ranks, then stops and waits for you. Nothing goes out until a person has read it. I run my own business on the same agents, which is how I know where they get things wrong.
